I keep referring to 2013 as my year of food. The evidence that I’d chosen an appropriate name for my year was even given to me in the form of gifts at Christmastime: an apron and an immersion blender from my mom, the Kinfolk Table cookbook from Eric and posters of fruits and vegetables from friends. But although the year is over, the project I started is not. So, I plan to continue learning about food and how it looks as it grows, how it gets to us and how we can create meals and communities with it. And I plan to take many more photographs along the way so I can share them here.
Today, I wanted to share some some captures of the beautiful pound cakes Steve and Abby of Central Provisions allowed me to photograph recently. Hopefully those of you that eat food will enjoy…
Cheers to another year of food! Oh, and also for those of you that eat food, maybe you will also enjoy some of my favorite recipes from the last few months. I’ll add those below.
And some of my favorite newly discovered recipes:
Cashew Corn Chowder with Cilantro Cream from My New Roots
Spaghetti Squash Noodle Bowl with Lime Peanut Sauce from The First Mess
Pumpkin Brown Butter Pecan Pancakes from Naturally Ella
Poppy Seed Crusted Butternut Squash with Kale and Pomegranates from My New Roots
