I know we’re already more than half of a month into the new year but I’m still thinking about new beginnings. Eric and I have just begun the process of moving into a new home and I’m working on setting up a new studio space (more on that soon!). There’s a lot that will be new this year.
One of the things I’m greatly looking forward to at our new home is a new garden. Last year was my first foray into container gardening and, while I appreciated the unique challenges of growing vegetables in pots, I’m really looking forward to putting things into the ground. The home’s previous owner left us a delightful little map of the landscaping which includes edibles like raspberries, rhubarb, lavender, oregano, rosemary and strawberries as well as other scenic plants including a weeping cherry and a few antique rose bushes. I’m looking forward to the growing season to see what pops up arounds us in our new surroundings and I’m also thinking about what else I’d like to add to the garden. Do you have any favorite things to grow? I’d love to hear your ideas.
Best wishes to you in whatever new beginnings come your way this year!
